Procession for the death of King George V
King Edward VIII, later Duke of Windsor and his brothers leaves King's Cross walking behind the horse drawn coffin. With a dignified simplicity the body of King George was conveyed to Westminster Hall, through streets lined with people. A message from the King read in the House of Commons declared, "I am well assured that the House of Commons deeply mourns the death of my beloved father..... I am resolved to follow in the way he has set before me"
