Queen Alexandra's coronation dress worked in India
The superb overdress of Indian embroidery which was made for Queen Alexandra's Coronation costume, being worked during the winter of 1901-2 in Delhi by forty of the most skilled needleworkers at the firm of Manick Chand. Picture shows a number of the workers seated around their embroidery table consisting of a couple slight wooden trestles and four wooden bamboos, the worth of the whole, according to the Graphic, being about ninepence
