SIR WILLIAM HENRY GREGORY (1817-1892) Anglo-Irish writer and politician. Conservative Member of Parliament for Dublin between 1842 and 1847. Was appointed High Sheriff of County Galway in 1849 and after much traveling, Governor of Ceylon in 1872. Caption: An art critic
