Cable Street
A view of Cable Street in the East End of London showing the enormous crowd which gathered there in opposition to the planned march by Oswald Mosley's British Union of Fascists through an area with a large Jewish population. Police attempted to clear the crowd to allow the march to proceed which led to clashes between police and anti-fascists - the Battle of Cable Street - and the decision by Mosley to abandon the march
