The Duchess of Northumberland

The Duchess of Northumberland, formerly Helen Gordon-Lennox, daughter of the 7th Duke of Richmond (1886-1965) in the uniform of the British Red Cross Society of which she was President for the county of Surrey. She is also wearing the G.C.V.O and the C.B.E. She was President of the Comforts and Benevolent Fund for the A.T.S. and a member of the General Council and Vice-President of the F.A.N.Y.S. in Northumberland. This portrait was published on the front cover of The Tatler 6 March 1940
