Officer's cap badge, silver, 1942-1943.Hallmarked Birmingham 1942-43'.Associated with Royal Armoured Corps.Partially die-struck.A mailed gauntlet for the right hand, first clenched, palm to the front with a billet on the wrist bearing the letters, RAC, within a dotted border.Issuing from the wrist upwards are two concentric circles barbed and open at the top.The whole surmounted by a monarchial crown.The reverse bears three silver loop fittings, one at the top and one on either side of the centre.The reverse is hallmarked at the centre and bears the maker's mark, J R G &s (J R Gaunt and Son)
