Countess Beatty, first wife of David, Second Earl Beatty and formerly American-born, Dorothy Power Hall Sands, pictured going feminine for her few hours of relaxation from strenuous warwork. She is photographed in a print, designed by Molyneux of glowing cigarettes on white crepe, which has a black wool coat with cigarette end buttons (I think I've seen it all now). Her hat is fire-red straw with a black petersham ribbon crown
