Heliopolis Palace Hotel near Cairo
Heliopolis Palace Hotel was opened in 1910 in Heliopolis, a suburb north-east of central Cairo and soon became a travel destination for many, including foreign royals and international business tycoons. The hotel was closed in the 1960s, the building however became one of the Egyptian presidential palaces and headquarters of the administration during the 1980s
