The late Dick Richards on The Great Lafayette's horse
The late Dick Richards (band member - real name John Bell) on Lafayette's black stallion Arizona'. The Great Lafayette was a magician killed in a fire on May 9, 1909 at the Empire Theatre, Edinburgh. Richards was an body double/understudy cremated by mistake (thinking it was Lafayette!!). A few days later, Lafayette's true body was found, identified by his rings, correcting the error
