RMS Empress of Ireland, ocean liner
RMS Empress of Ireland, ocean liner of the Canadian Pacific Steamship Company. On 29 May 1914 she collided with a Norwegian collier and sank in the St Lawrence River. 1012 people (840 passengers and 172 crew) died. It is the greatest maritime disaster in Canadian history
