David R Collin who found body of murdered lighthouse keeper
Historian and author, David R Collin, sailing his boat in Kirkcudbright Bay, SW Scotland. In 1960, David and his father discovered the body of lighthouse keeper Hugh Clark on Little Ross Island at the entrance to the bay. A nationwide hunt was launched for his killer. Relief keeper Robert Dickson was arrested and charged with the murder. He was sentenced to hang, but this was commuted to a prson term. He hanged himself in prison
