Stockport Air Disaster 4th June 1967, in which 72 passengers and crew died when the British Midlands Airways Canadair C4 Argonaut from Palma, Mallorca, crashed into the centre of Stockport as it approached Manchester Airport. Stockport Police Chief Constable Leonard Massey (seen on the left) was one of the first on the scene
