Barnardo's Emigrants in Canada
Barnardo's emigrants - a boy holding a horse, with his foster parents standing behind. In 1872, Thomas Barnardo's children's homes began sending children to Canada. From the 1880s, a larger scale scheme began after Barnardo visited Canada. Emigration was extended to Australia in 1921
