Dr Thomas John Barnardo
Dr Thomas John Barnardo (1845 - 1905). In 1867, Barnardo set up a Ragged School for poor children in London's East End, followed in 1870 by a home for boys at 18-26 Stepney Causeway. As well as accommodation, training facilities were developed at the home to equip the boys to earn their own living
