Edward Prince of Wales visiting Training Ship Exmouth
HRH Edward, Prince of Wales, visiting the Training Ship Exmouth on the occasion of its golden jubilee in 1926. The ship was operated by the Metropolitan Asylums Board on the River Thames off Grays, Essex. Boys aged 12-15, most of them coming from London workhouses, were trained in seamanship, with many going on to join the naval services
