Children and staff at the Galloway Home at 34 Upper Chorlton Road, Whalley Range, Cheshire. The home was established in 1875 by Miss Galloway who, for 35 years, ran it single-handed. After her retirement in 1910, the home was taken over by the Waifs and Strays Society
