Kensington & Chelsea District School, swimming pool

In 1876, the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea established a District School for pauper children at Banstead, Surrey (later known as Beechholme). As well as cottage homes, each housing 40 children, the site had its own schools, infirmary, chapel, swimming pool etc. Here, a group of boys are using the pool, in swimsuits of the period.
