Aerial view of Beechholme children's home, Banstead, Surrey, originally established in 1876 as the Kensington and Chelsea District School to house pauper children away from the workhouse. Cottages, each housing 40 children, were arranged along a tree-lined village street'. The site had its own schools, infirmary, chapel, swimming pool etc. grouped at top centre of the picture
