Middlesex Industrial School, Feltham
A children's infirmary ward at the Middlesex Industrial School, Feltham. As well as nurses, a doctor and patients, the room, decorated for Christmas, contains cot beds and toys including a horse on wheels. The School, opened in 1859, housed up to 800 boys aged 7-15 placed there by magistrates for reasons such as vagrancy, begging, disrupting schools, or living with prostitutes
