Ship's Cooking Class at the Middlesex Industrial School, Feltham. A small group of boys, supervised by staff, perform various kitchen tasks. The School, opened in 1859, housed up to 800 boys aged 7-15 placed there by magistrates for reasons such as vagrancy, begging, disrupting schools, or living with prostitutes
