Nell Lane Hospital and Institution, Manchester
Aerial view of Nell Lane Hospital at Didsbury, near Withington, Manchester, opened in 1855 as Chorlton Union workhouse. The cross shaped block (above centre) was the main workhouse building, later becoming Withington Hospital. The blocks in the lower part of the picture were added in 1880, originally as a children's home, later becoming known as Chorlton Hospital
