Newcastle-upon-Tyne Cottage Homes, Ponteland
Children's cottage homes at Ponteland, Newcastle upon Tyne. The homes were erected in 1901 by the Newcastle-upon-Tyne Union to accommodate pauper children away from the workhouse. Each cottage housed 30-40 children. A superintendent's house, schools and workshops stood near the entrance. The site is now a headquarters for the Northumbria Police
