Poplar Union Schools, Brentwood, Essex
In 1906, the Poplar Union (East London) established a Schools site located between Shenfield and Hutton, near Brentwood, Essex. As well as cottage homes, each one housing 30 children, the site had its own schools, infirmary, chapel, swimming pool etc. This view shows some of the boys in front of a pair of the cottages, with the very ornate boys dining hall building to the right
