Aerial view of Springfield Hospital on Glenburnie Road, Tooting, near Wandsworth (then in Surrey, now in south west London). It was opened in 1841 as the Surrey County Lunatic Asylum. It was subsequently known as Wandsworth Asylum, Springfield Asylum, and Springfield Mental Hospital
