Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport. The hospital was opened as Stepping Hill Infirmary by the Stockport Union in 1905 to improve on the medical facilities that existed at the Union's workhouse. A central administrative block was linked by covered walkways to a number of separate pavilion ward blocks
