Tonbridge Union Workhouse, Pembury, Kent. The original buildings, designed by John Whichcord, date from 1836 and lie to the rear, left of centre in the picture. The gabled building in front is a vagrants block with stonebreaking cells along its front. The large buildings to the right are later infirmary blocks. The site later became Pembury Hospital
