Union Workhouse, Cuckfield, Sussex
The Cuckfield Union workhouse, erected in 1843 on Ardingley Road in Cuckfield, Sussex. The architects, Foden and Parker, produced a less severe design than used in earlier workhouses, with the front yards for children and the elderly, bounded by open low fences rather than high walls. The building later became Cuckfield Hospital
