Union Workhouse, Doncaster, South Yorkshire
The Doncaster Union workhouse opened in 1900 at Springwell Lane, Balby, replacing the previous premises at Hexthorpe Lane. The buildings, designed by JH Morton, are dominated by a clock tower which also contained a large water tank. The site later became the Western Hospital
