The Haslingden Union workhouse at Higher Pikelaw, between Haslingden and Rawtenstall, Lancashire. The original workhouse buildings are at the far left. The centre and right of the picture show the new infirmary, opened in 1912. The site later became Moorland House Institution, then Rossendale General Hospital
