Aerial view of the Wolverhampton Union workhouse at New Cross, Wednesfield (then Staffordshire, today part of the West Midlands district), opened in 1903 and designed by Arthur Marshall. The long row of blocks up through the centre of the picture were the male wards (nearest camera) and female wards, with a central administration block between them. To the left are the laundry/boilerhouse and the workhouse infirmary
