Union Workhouse, Tonbridge, Kent, Boys Drill
A line of boys at Tonbridge Union workhouse in Kent, probably in band uniforms, hold their rifles in military drill style. A man at the left of the line (their bandmaster?) looks on. Ladies in large hats sit in a decorated marquee behind. Thought to be the occasion of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897. The workhouse buildings later became part of Pembury Hospital
