Wednesfield Cottage Homes, Staffordshire
Children on the main street of the Wednesfield Cottage Homes, Staffordshire. The homes were established by the Wolverhampton Union in 1890 at a site on Amos Lane, Wednesfield, to house pauper children away from the workhouse. As well as eight cottages, each housing 30 boys or girls, the site had its own infirmary, schools, swimming pool and workshops
