Engraving depicting the capture by the Spaniards of Guatimocin (1496-1525), the last emperor of the Aztecs, as he attempted to flee Tenochtitlan in a canoe on 13 August 1521. He was overtaken by a Spanish brigantine piloted by Garcia Holguin.
