France. Paris Commune. Corpses of the French generals

France. Paris Commune. Popular revolutionary movement that took power in Paris from 18 March to 28 May 1871, during the Franco-Prussian War. Corpses of the French generals Claude Lecomte (1817-1871) and Jacques Leon Clement-Thomas (1809-1871). They were pelted with rocks and lynched on 18 March 1871 at the local headquarters of the National Guard, at the ballroom of the Chateau Rouge, and then taken to 6 Rue des Rosiers in Montmartre by a group called The Committee of Vigilance of the 18th arrondissement, who demanded that they be tried and executed. Engraving by Ovejero. Historia de la Guerra de Francia y Prusia (History of the War between France and Prussia). Volume II. Published in Barcelona, 1871
