Hisham's Palace. 8th century AD. Khirbat al-Mafjar, near Jericho. Was built by Waild Ibn Yazid in 734 AD, during the reign of Caliph Hisham Ibn Abdelmalik (724-743 AD). Stucco dome of the diwan. Between the acanthus leaves are set six busts, male and female. Rockefeller Archaeological Museum. Jerusalem. Israel
