Juan Alvarez de Mendizabal (1790-1853). Spanish politician and financier who had great importance in the Spanish liberal Revolution. He was appointed Minister of Finance in July 1835 by the Count of Toreno, from which he promoted the confiscation of the confiscation of Catholic Church's properties. Portrait.
