Mesopotamian art. Neo-Babylonian. Ishtar Gate, one of the eight gates of the inner wall of Babylon. Built in the year 575 B.C. during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar II (604-562 BC) using glazed blue brick with alternating rows of basrelief with dragons mushussu, also called sirrush, and aurochs.
