Spain, Community of Spain, Alcala de Henares. Archbishop's Palace (Episcopal Palace). Commissioned in 1209 by Archbishop Rodrigo Jimenez de Rada (1170-1247) as the summer residence of the Lords of Alcala, the archbishops of Toledo. Successive bishops enlarged the building. Architectural detail of the Tenorio Turret (Torreon de Tenorio), which owes its name to Pedro Tenorio, archbishop of Toledo between 1377 and 1399, who fortified the palace. Construction of the building was not completed until the 16th century
