Balloons and ballooning scenes

Various balloons and ballooning scenes around the outside of a poster. At the top is Garnerin, his wife and Mr Glassford ascending from Vauxhall Gardens in 1802, with a kitten descending by parachute over the River Thames. Balloons below were piloted by Montgolfier and Blanchard (left) and Lunardi, Garnerin and Captain Sowden (right). In the lower left is a balloon being filled, and in the lower right a parachute descent. At the bottom centre is an arrangement with French and British flags
