A Cierva C30A Rota 1 K4230
A Cierva C30A Rota 1, K4230, was modified by the Cierva company for deck landing operations (including fitment of Walter Kidde and RFD flotation gear) prior to transfer to the School of Army Co-Operation on 31 May 1935 for service trials. On completion the aircraft was transferred to Gosport and loaned to the Admiralty, going aboard HMS Courageous in July 1935 during the Summer Cruise for sea service trials, followed by a deck landing test on HMS Furious on 9 September 1935 which was conducted by Brie.
