The crew of HMAS Melbourne line up on the flight deck alongside its complement of Skyhawk and Tracker aircraft. HMAS Melbourne was laid down in 1943 as HMS Majestic. Construction was frozen at the end of WW2 but resumed in 1949 after the ship was taken over by the RAN. It was commissioned in 1955
