Lawrence Hargrave and his family. In a letter to George Crosland Taylor of 1 January 1895 held in the National Aerospace Library's archives, Hargrave notes: "Whilst Bayliss the photographer was here I had a family group and view of Stanwell Park taken." Hargrave refers to the New South Wales photographer Charles Bayliss (1850-1897) who also took the much-reproduced 1894 photograph of Hargrave and his assistant James Swaine experimenting with four man-lifting kites.
