The north side control tower
The north side control tower was built by the RAF on familiar military lines. In this 1945 view an RAF Anson and several military supply vehicles can be seen, together with the pre-fabs which housed the airport staff. Meteoralogical, teleprinter and radio operators were based in the buildings adjoining the control tower
