The ornithopter flying fox design of Major R.F. Moore under test. Each bat-pattern wing (7 feet span) was flapped on a test rig powered by a gas engine, the tests undertaken - in arrangement with the Wings Committee of the Aeronautical Society of Great Britain - by the H.T. Motor Company based at Addington Square, Camberwell Road, London S8. Major Moore was President of the Wings Committee and was assisted in these experiments by Frederick Handley Page
