Tom Campbell Black, 1899-1936, winner of the MacRobertson Air Race, London to Melbourne race in 1934, with his wife, the actress Florence Desmond. Tom Campbell Black died after an aircraft collided with his at Liverpool Speke Airport on 19 September 1936. He was in preparation for the Schlesinger Portsmouth to Johannesburg race
