British battalion boarding a train for Cameroon, Africa, WW1

A British colonial battalion boarding a train for Cameroon, west central Africa, during the First World War. They belong to the 1st Battalion, Nigeria Regiment, and are boarding the train at Kaduna in Nigeria, from where they will travel to Lagos, and on to Douala, capital of Cameroon. They are armed with Lee-Enfield rifles and short bayonets, and carry their blankets and rain capes rolled up on their backs. The bare-headed man in the foreground is carrying his sleeping mat under his left arm
