Four British Stokes Mortars, used during the First World War. From left to right, they measure 3, 4, 3 and 6 inches respectively. The Stokes trench mortar was designed by Wilfred Stokes in 1915, and remained in service until 1936. It could fire up to 25 bombs per minute, with a maximum range of 800 yards
