Mothers leave an Ilford school with their children after a gas mask fitting. All the schools in Ilford, Essex (London) were opened to enable residents to be fitted with gas masks under the Air Raid Precautions Scheme. The rush for gas masks was experienced all over London as the crisis over Czechoslovakia became more acute
