Josef Roth von Limanowa-Lapanow, WW1
Josef Roth von Limanowa-Lapanow (1859-1927), Austro-Hungarian officer, Colonel General from 1918. During the First World War he was division commander, then commander of the 14th Corps on the Eastern Front. He led his troops to victory in the Battle of Limanowa-Lapanow, 1914; in 1916 he was defence commander of the Tyrol and commander of the 20th Corps in South Tyrol, and from February 1918 he was general inspector of military schools.
