Captain Kermit Roosevelt (1889-1943), a son of the former President of the United States, seen here (left) with others at the recently captured Tikrit, Mesopotamia (now Iraq), during the First World War. He served with the (British) Royal Engineers and the 14th Light Armoured Motor Battery. He later joined the American Army in France and won the Military Cross
